Commenting on Keith Brown's '6 point plan to keep Scotland moving', Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson Alison McInnes said:
"Some action from the Scottish Government is better late than never.
"These are all things the previous Transport Minister could have done. Keith Brown cannot delay in implementing these proposals.
"However, I don't want to see the haulage industry unduly hampered. HGVs move the bulk of our goods around the country and keep the economy going. The Government need to have a proper dialogue with the haulage industry about this plan.
"We are forecast more wintry weather for later this week and Scotland cannot afford a repeat of last week's debacle.
"This is Keith Brown's first test as Transport Minister. He must hit the ground running."
